A review of talent management research at home and abroad

Since McKinsey proposed the term the war for talent in 1998, there have been numerous theoretical discussions and application studies in the Western academic world, and this new situation has put forward new requirements for China's talent management research. The research on talent management in China started at the early stage of reform and opening up, and there are still obvious shortcomings in the clarification of core concepts and disciplinary boundaries, the improvement of theoretical system, and the construction of research paradigm, etc., which are yet to realize the modernization and standardization of talent management research. To grasp the research frontier, discover the research direction, and accelerate the pace of China's talent management research to strengthen its international connection, this paper systematically composes the literature related to talent management in China and abroad, elaborates the connotation of talent and talent management, theoretical discussion and practical research of talent management, and research methods of talent management, and puts forward feasible suggestions for the subsequent research direction.
