The Integration of Traditional Chinese Medicine Ideology into Modern Compensation Management and Its Practical Application:A Case Study of Z Company

Purpose
This article aims to explore the way to combine the ideology of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and western scientific management, so as to optimize the management system of Z Company, which we chose to study as a case.
Design/methodology/approach
The research method of this paper is based on the basic theories of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) such as the meridian theory, essence and spirit theory, Yin Yang and five elements theory and the doctrine of the mean. Using the methods of image comparison, case analysis and questionnaire survey, we analyzed the disease existing in the compensation system of Z Company and come up with the solution.
Findings
This article refers to the thinking of dredging meridians, regulating Jing, Qi and balancing Yin and Yang in Traditional Chinese Medicine theory and puts forward two method for optimization: First, adjusting the company's organizational structure to increase the interaction between departments; Second, optimizing the compensation system by adjusting the structure of total salary and performance incentive mechanism.
Originality/value
This article is groundbreaking in exploring the way to combine Chinese traditional metaphysical philosophy in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and western scientific management theory, which is of great benefit to our understanding of the innovation of Chinese traditional thoughts and its practical appliance in modern management.
